I'm a little sad, because I thought you would be excited about who Ravio turned out to be. I love the way you keep mostly true to the canon, and I also love the deviations you take. They make for more interesting characters and more unique and compelling stories. I really wish I could know more about what you think of Ravio and Lorule's fate. (the name, btw, I agree with you is beyond silly)
I haven’t played ALBW but, honestly, your stuff ends up 9000x better than canon most of the time anyway, so I’d say “fuck it” and do your own thing. (Besides, I love the drabbles you’ve written so far, haha.)
You’re a peach. :)
Hoping to do at least a couple more drabbles. Just need to decide what I want to do with the ending!
I wanted to swing in and tell you that I really hope you still carry on with your RR!Link and ALBW!Link thing... despite, well, you know.
I’m too attached to it not to. Link has put his many guardians and PIAs through waaaaaaaaaaaay too much to not deserve to go through the process from their end for once. I just need to figure out how/whether I can still work it in without bending canon too much, or if I say fuck it and rework a couple elements to make it work!
Rest assured I liked it, Blu! Irritated by the usual franchise-built-in sexism in terms of who’s allowed to do what at the end, but also very used to that and was expecting it.
My complaints (other than that one) are actually very minor (I won’t go in to them so as not to spoil you). It’s just there’s a few ways I could take this (or headcanon it right to shit) and I need to decide what I like best.

“So thanks a lot, anti-vaccine parents. You took an ethical stand against big pharma and the autism your baby was not going to get anyway, and, by doing so, killed some babies and gave me, an otherwise healthy 31-year-old woman, the whooping cough in the year 2013. I understand your wanting to raise your own children as you see fit, science be damned, but you’re selfishly jeopardizing more than your own children. Carry your baby around in a sling, feed her organic banana mash while you drink your ethical coffee, fine, but what gives you denialists the right to put my health at risk”—
1) Vaccines don’t cause autism. The man who did the single study on which the entire anti-vax movement hangs its hat? He has had his credentials as a doctor stripped, been sued repeatedly, and has *admitted that he lied about the study.* He admitted he fixed the results so they’d be the results that the people who were paying him wanted. 2) Vaccines don’t cause autism but they /do/ decrease the herd immunity of the human race. 3) Herd immunity is important. Herd immunity is what means we don’t have polio, or smallpox, or whoop—
— oh, you mean all of those things are making a comeback?
Vaccinate your kids.
It doesn’t cause autism. An extremely, extremely limited number of people will react to vaccines — but your child’s chances of reacting to vaccines is minuscule compared to your child’s — or your — chances of dying from a really fucking horrifying disease if we don’t reverse this trend.
And for fuck’s sake, stop blaming vaccines for autism. My son was born with his brain wired differently. He’s neurodiverse. He isn’t brain-damaged.
YOU BASTARDS WHO COULDN’T WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS. GUH I CAN’T READ ONE THING OF YOUR THEORIES YET, DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I’M DYING TO.
YOU COULD PROBABLY READ LIKE MY FIRST POST ABOUT IT. You meet the character in question almost right away.
And technically I DID wait for Christmas, but my family did Christmas early this year to accommodate work schedules, so I DID TOTALLY WAIT.
It’s just Christmas literally came early this year.
I’ve had early Christmas before… but like… DANGGGGGGGGGGGG you got early Christmas.
It was actually kind of awesome. So much nicer shopping before the Christmas rush really starts. (It was very early, but we were working around the schedules of a large group of people, PLUS plane ticket prices).
So, how far are you in ALBW? The final battle is a pleasantly brutal, ohoho.
Two temples left (Turtle Rock (…which…moved?)) and the Ice Ruins. And then whatever end game there is.
I’ll be finishing it soon (maybe this weekend). This week took a bit of an unexpected turn and I now find myself with about a day (filled with extenuating circumstances) to finish a couple major school projects instead of the week I expected (…yay…).
I just had a mind blowing theory about Ravio in ALBW, so I thought I'd run it by you. This shouldn't be any spoilers. So, I was wondering for the longest time why the hell he dresses as a bunny, cause that's super weird. Then I had a thought, the original A Link to the Past had link turn into a bunny in the dark world, and he was considered harmless. Maybe, in a world full of monsters, Ravio wanted to seem harmless to Link, that way he'd be let in.
That’s an interesting theory! Very interesting thought!
